Rainforest

Rainforest is a chapter of the Botanical Portraits series, in which Lígia Francisco photographs live plants in their environments in a similar perspective we photograph people.

In this project, the artist has added color back to the botanical portraits on different layers using acrylic paint to highlight how our perception of nature has been disconnected over the centuries, with nature seen and treated in a utilitarian way, leading to its exploitation and destruction.
